Green Peridot, August's birthstone!

You've probably never heard of Peridot before, so here is a little bit about August's birthstone.

A noteworthy gemstone for manifestation of all desired things, the peridot (pronounced pear-a-doe) gemstone is deeply alluring with its mysterious green colour. It’s unique in that it is ALWAYS a shade of green, usually other gemstones will, for example, have a hint of yellow or some hues of red. So when you are on the hunt to for your very own Peridot, tip: the darker the green the more valuable it is.

First believed to have originated from Egypt, the Egyptians called peridot the “gem of the sun,” and some thought that it protected against nightmare (winner!). It’s in fact the national gem stone of Egypt, but also found in the volcanic lava in Hawaai. This stone was also believed to bring the wearer confidence, power, good health and peacefulness.
